AiDER

The European project AiDER will optimize existing CC technology by pushing the limits in the system performance through the integration of cutting-edge detectors and electronics

Technological innovation applied to medicine

The AIDER project aims at developing a specialized imaging tool based on Compton Camera (CC) technology to improve imaging in TRT and to enable image-based dosimetry in targeted alpha therapy.

The focus on significantly improving image quality and sensitivity towards enabling pre-treatment imaging as the most effective way to estimate the dose-effect relationship and thus to personalise radionuclide therapies for cancer patients.

Advanced image detector for targeted radionuclide therapy

The project brings together experts from several European institutions: Claude Bernard University in Lyon and its affiliates CNRS and INSA in Lyon, Léon Bérard Hospital in Lyon and DAMAVAN Imaging in France; the Polytechnic University of Milan in Italy; the Institute of Medical Engineering at the University of Lübeck in Germany; and La Fe University and Polytechnic Hospital in Valencia. The Association of Parents of Children with Cancer of the Valencian Community completes the consortium, providing the patients’ perspective.

This international collaboration combines academic research, technological innovation and clinical experience to advance safer and more effective cancer therapies.

Adivisory Board

It consists of four members from different countries, representing different areas of expertise related to the project and particularly focused on the translational aspects, including members strongly related to the clinics and acquainted with product commercialization.

Experts with a strong background in relevant basic and applied sciences supporting the technical and scientific objectives of AIDER.

Specialists in the regulation and assessment of innovative medical devices, contributing to regulatory alignment and compliance.

Medical professionals with clinical expertise relevant to the targeted indications, ensuring alignment with real-world healthcare needs and clinical practice.

Experts in health economics, ethics, and technology adoption, supporting evaluation of impact, scalability, and responsible implementation in healthcare systems.

This balanced composition ensures that scientific excellence, regulatory feasibility, ethical considerations, and societal relevance are addressed in an integrated manner. By bringing together diverse yet complementary profiles, the AB is well positioned to provide comprehensive guidance, support stakeholder engagement, and enhance the overall impact of the AIDER project at European and international levels.
